Goddess of the Moon Fabric Panel

100% Cotton Fabric panel, 21.5" x 24.25" printed from the original artwork of Teresa Ascone.

Teresa Ascone portrays her impressions of nature in a distinctive, romanticized style, featuring flowers, animals, and landscapes. She has worked in watercolor, acrylics, oils, and pastels. An award-winning PBS-produced video, Landscapes of the Imagination-The Art of Teresa Ascone, honored her in 1988.

Teresa has taught watercolor for more than 30 years, which led to her two books, We’re All Artists: Watercolor for Everyone and Painting Pleasure: Adventures in Watercolor, and The Ultimate Palette, for which she holds a design patent. Teresa created UAA’s Ultimate Watercolor Academy. Its success resulted in her nomination for the UAA 2000 Chancellor’s Award for Teaching Excellence.

Always interested in portraying women of myth and magic, Teresa’s work took a quirky turn in 2008 with her fairy tales. Her first story, The Berry Fairies of Alaska, introduced her whimsical world of the fairies; the  second, Alaska Berry Fairies ~ Lizzie Scarlet, received the December 2010 Reviewer’s Choice Award at Midwest Book Review’s Children’s Bookwatch. Working further in the realm of fantasy, she created two designs, The Snow Queen and The Goddess of the Moon, which are available in print form on Fine Art America and as 100% cotton fabric panels. See  her website at for more information.

Artist’s Statement
“When I began to paint, my perceptions changed and it was as if I saw everything through a lens of creativity – how would I paint those clouds, that mountain?
“Creative excitement and the lure of wielding magic have kept me engaged in the world of art. Yes, magic – because there is something magical about it. My work continues to evolve as new tools come into play. Computer design programs add more magic to the mix as my pencils and paint evolve into stylus and pad, becoming a launching pad into different realms.”
